My closets were a disaster. My organization system was "toss on the floor" and shut the door! Then Susan came along and painstakingly brought me through to complete organization. Amazingly, I now can see all of my items with a single sweep of the eye. Everything has a place and best of all it is easy to follow the organization pattern she set up for me. About Susan Brown – Founding Owner of Blue Skies Organizing

I guess you could say I was born with an eye towards organizing – my very first memory is of gazing at our Christmas tree when I was three years old and thinking “I could have decorated that better.” I’ve been organizing (and annoying!) my family and friends ever since.

I grew up in the military, which meant moving about every two years or so. I soon learned what a “white glove inspection” meant, and how to make sure we passed them before we could vacate the current home. Moving households became a regular occurrence for me – and I accepted it with a determination to make it as seamless as possible.

I started my career in the field of finance and became a Certified General Accountant several years ago. I have managed teams of financial personnel and lead projects with specified deadlines and accountability measures. I met and exceeded expectations for every one of them. I maximized efficiency and productivity by planning properly, and engaging my teammates to take ownership in their part of the process. Working together gets the job done right. During my corporate career I played an integral role in two large company moves from one building to another. If you can move a firm with all of its systems, files, and staff, then a residential move is a piece of cake!

All my life people have been telling me that I’m a born organizer, and that I should do it for a living. The saying goes that everyone has more than one career in them, so I decided to test that theory. I took the leap into the wonderful world of professional organizing - working for myself, which really means working for my clients. Now a member of the Professional Organizers In Canada, I am energized by the positive results that I bring directly to my clients lives. Decluttering, organizing, moving – these are all things that I find fun and exciting. When you’re a natural at something, it’s not work at all. It’s a joy.
